Outside of styling food, one of my favorite things to do is share styling tips and tricks with folks eager to make their photography better. I’ve had the opportunity to do that on several occasions and, most recently, it’s been with my dear friend Helene Dujardin. Some of you may have seen our presentation at Food Blog South back in January and, for most, it’s clear that Helene and I have a blast talking about our jobs and sharing knowledge with folks…and it’s always better when we can do it together.
I’m happy to announce we’re teaming up for a two-day workshop here in Atlanta, Georgia next month! April 20-21st, to be exact…with some fun getting-to-know-you festivities happening on Friday, April 19th. We’ve upped the ante on this one with the addition of rock star prop stylist Mindi Shapiro. You’ll spend two days honing your photography skills in a professional photo studio, getting some helpful hints for making your food look crave-able, working with great props and gaining the tools to choose your props wisely, getting inspired by your assignments during the day, having a delicious dinner in Atlanta on Saturday and (maybe most importantly) making some new friends and seeing food photography from the perspective of your fellow attendees. It’s going to be a great weekend – it’s a month away and I’m already jazzed about it.
All the info you need about the workshop is located here – registration opens today at 10 am EST. These workshops are kept on the small side – we like to be able to be hands on with all of the attendees – so there are a limited number of spaces. For a short bio about each of us teaching the workshop, you can see that here. It’s going to be fantastic – I can’t wait to meet all of you that take the plunge to attend!
