Pork1

I really wish I could take credit for this post…I really do. When my fantastically witty and smart friend Michael heard that I was marinating a pork tenderloin to make for dinner, he started spouting this impromptu song. I insisted that he email it to me so I could share his brilliance with the masses.

Without further ado, an homage to everyone’s favorite white meat…sung to the tune of Depeche Mode’s Personal Jesusand my favorite pork marinade recipe just so this is a food-related post.

Pork loin

Something to marinate

It will taste great…

What do you cook

When you’re all alone?

A piece of pork

But without the bone

Put it on the skillet

But make sure not to kill it…

Saute in the pan

Till the loin is seared

Your dinner’s near

When the juice is clear

Wear a kitchen glove when

You put it in the oven….

REACH OUT AND TASTE PIG…

REACH OUT AND TASTE PIG…

Pork Marinade – originally found here on Cooks.com

1 cup soy sauce

6 tbsp. sugar

4 tbsp minced onion

4 tsp. minced garlic

2 tsp. ginger

4 tbsp. oil

Marinate for 6 hours in a Ziploc bag or constantly rotate pork so that all sides are evenly covered, OK?

that’s so bad it’s good. i shouldn’t listen to depeche mode at all, and now all I’ll ever hear again is “reach out and touch pig….” beautiful.

Right now I have Goldfrapp’s “Number One” playing on an eternal loop track in my mind. Perhaps I can put it to good use and create new words to accompany the tri-tip I want to grill this evening. Anyone have any suggestions???
